Budget justification
Saturday coordinator. One part-time coordinator runs the two added Saturdays: receiving deliveries, scheduling volunteers and keeping check-in records used for reporting.
Fresh food purchases. Each added Saturday serves about 90 households at roughly $10.25 in purchased fresh food per household after donated product: about $1,845 a month across both added Saturdays, or about $22,100 a year. The request covers just over half of that cost.
Refrigerated transport. Produce from the regional food bank must be kept cold. Truck rental is $150 per trip, two trips a month, plus fuel.
Other funds. $14,600 is committed from the annual appeal ($10,600) and an in-kind grocery partnership valued at $4,000 for produce and supplies. Volunteer training and administration are fully covered by other funds.
